RTÉ lyric fm is calling for choirs across Ireland to share their festive music-making for this year’s Choirs for Christmas Competition, supported by Sing Ireland.
The long-running competition is an annual celebration of amateur choral music-making from communities across the island.
As choirs up and down the country start rehearsing and preparing for Christmas celebrations, RTÉ lyric fm welcomes submissions to the annual celebration of choral music this festive season.
Choirs are invited to send a recording to the RTÉ lyric fm Choirs for Christmas Competition, with the goal of sharing music-making with listeners across Ireland this Christmas.
Every year, a selection of submissions is chosen for airplay on Weekend Classics with Claudia Boyle from December 6 on RTÉ lyric fm.
RTÉ lyric fm will create a unique soundtrack for Christmas, so that all entries will be posted and available for listeners on the RTÉ lyric fm RTÉ lyric fm Choirs for Christmas 2025
“There’s something magical about singing in a choir. When voices come together, it’s not just music, it’s about connection. It brings people from all walks of life into harmony, reminding us that we’re stronger together” – Gail Henry, producer, RTÉ lyric fm.
Closing date for the receipt of entries is Friday November 28, 2025, at 12 noon.
