Lottie Ryan and Ryan Andrews revealed as the second and third stars to compete in RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars
2FM entertainment presenter Lottie Ryan and Fair City star Ryan Andrews confirmed as the next two celebrities to quickstep their way on to Dancing with the Stars on RTÉ One in the New Year.
Following much speculation it was confirmed live on The Ryan Tubridy Show onRTÉ Radio 1this morning that Lottie and Ryan are heading for the dance floor this January.
Used to taking over the airwaves, Lottie will take on ballroom in 2020. Speaking about the announcement Lottie said; “I could not be more excited to be joining Dancing with the Stars. I think it’s going to be a once in a lifetime incredible adventure and I cannot wait to get stuck in.”
Best known for his role as Sean Cassidy on RTÉ’s Fair City, this January, Ryan will take on his toughest role yet when he struts his stuff on the dance floor. Ryan commented; “I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the show. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. I’m a Strictly fan from years and years ago – myself my Mam and Dad always watch it. And then Dancing with the Stars came to Ireland, same thing, every Sunday night. I’ve had friends and colleagues who have been on the show and I always cheered them on. I always said, I’d love to do it, so then when the phone call came in – it was a definite “yes”. It’s kind of like a dream come true. It’s an amazing bunch of people, an amazing show and brilliant contestants so I think we’re in for a great run”.
The next celebrity dancer will be revealed tomorrow, Tuesday 3 December on Jennifer Zamparelli on RTÉ 2FM.
Jennifer Zamparelli and Nicky Byrne will reunite this January to present the new series of Dancing with the Stars. Airing on RTÉ One for 12 weeks from Sunday 5 January at 6.30pm, a total of 11 celebrities will partner with their professional dancers as they take on a brand new challenge and change their daily routines for dance routines. Each will be hoping to claim the much-coveted glitter ball trophy at the end of the series.
The couples will tackle a different dance genre each week from the Paso Doble to the Viennese waltz and will have just seven days to perfect their routine before performing it live to the nation.
Also returning this year is the fabulous panel of judges: Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry and Julian Benson. They will cast their expert eyes over the dancers each week and judge them on their performances. Once again the celebrities and their dancers will be scored by both the judges and the viewing public at home.
