Meet puppet duo Bellie and Whizz, who are about to explore all the big feelings that come with starting primary school in their latest series Bellie and Whizz at Big School airing weekdays on RTÉ KIDSjr at 9:55am with a repeat 13:50pm starting on Monday 24 August. The series box set will be available to watch on RTÉ Player after the first episode airs.
Throughout the series Bellie the Badger and Whizz the Hare cover topics that some little ones experience when starting ‘Big School’ including first-day jitters and making new friends. Each episode features children from around Ireland along with Bellie and Whizz and their forest puppet pals Fia Fox, Ruby Rabbit, Barry Beaver, Jimmy Rat, Martina Pine Martin and Mrs Hedgehog.
Bellie and Whizz at Big School speaks directly to young viewers, showing them how they can manage those big feelings in the classroom, turning challenges into opportunities in a fun and entertaining way. Full of laughter and games, each of the 12 episodes follow the characters as they navigate something new. With the help of the forest kids at the den, the issues are teased out through lively discussion and play, what was learnt is then recapped through song and rhyme.
Starring voice actors and puppeteers Ray Cuddihy (Séamus Goes Wild) and Gráinne Bleasdale (Bluey as Gaeilge), the adorable characters are crafted with care and have their own loveable, relatable personalities that children can engage with.
Bellie and Whizz at Big School will air on RTÉ KIDSjr 9:55am with a repeat 13:50pm starting on Monday 24 August 2026.
