\nThe range of Irish-language programming being commissioned by RT\u00c9 in recent years has developed considerably, with projects from the independent sector building upon the excellent output of the in-house Rann\u00f3g na gCl\u00e1r Gaeilge.<\/p>\n

Recent output on RT\u00c9 One from Cl\u00e1racha Gaeilge includes the long-running series ‘Scannal’ and ‘Cloch Le Carn’, as well as more recent series such as \u2018The Geansa\u00ed.\u2019 All three are multi-part, single-camera series produced in-house and that now play primarily on Mondays and Thursdays on RT\u00c9 One at 19:00\/19:30<\/p>\n

Other in-house projects aired in 2017 included \u2018Random Acts as Gaeilge\u2019, \u2018Fab Vinny\u2019, and \u2018An Teorainn’<\/p>\n

Over the last number of years we have increased the number of co-produced and co-funded projects broadcast, among them \u2018GAA Nua\u2019 [BAI], ‘O\u00edche Na Gaoithe M\u00f3ire’ [BBC N.I.\/ILBF\/BAI], ‘Guth na nGael’ [BAI] and , and \u2018D\u00f3nal Lunny: Na L\u00ednte Cheoil Ceiltigh\u2019 [BAI].<\/p>\n

We welcome ambitious applications that satisfy the BAI\u2019s Sound and Vision scheme criteria, with an eye towards the next round of the scheme, closing on 8 November 2018.<\/p>\n

We are looking for projects that deal with aspects of life and living in contemporary Ireland and beyond, that are editorially challenging and that can play outside of traditional Irish language slots in pre-watershed.<\/p>\n

Proposals should be relevant, have strong stories and characters at their core, have broad audience appeal and should be produced in the Irish language. The proposals should be built around engaging narratives that stimulate discussion and debate, and that contextualise a contemporary Ireland in the light of culture and heritage.<\/p>\n

We are particularly interested in developing fresh faces and new voices, both as programme anchors, authors or contributors, and special consideration will be given to all proposals that have stated digital and\/or radio ambitions and that can work on multiple platforms. Last year\u2019s in-house one-off, \u2018Random Acts As Gaeilge\u2019 is a good example of how this kind of proposal could work. Proposals will be accepted for projects that can be shown on RT\u00c9 One or RT\u00c92.<\/p>\n

Eligible applications under the Irish Language Broadcast Fund, operated by Northern Ireland Screen, are also welcome, and should be in keeping with the aims and ambitions set out above, as are applications in the form of co-productions with other broadcasters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
