RTÉ 2FM are seeking submissions of the following nature to fill our Christmas schedule.
IRP Proposals for 2FM should reflect:
• 2FM’s tone: Irreverent, authentic, music-forward, non-preachy.
• 2FM’s audience: 15–34-year-olds; youth-centric with Irish identity.
• Modern Ireland: Reflect the actual lives, concerns, interests, and cultural energies of young people in Ireland today.
Modern Irish Identity
• Exploring what it means to be Irish now – through music, slang, fashion, cultural tension, emigration, multilingualism, and fluid identities.
• A youth-centric look at issues that affect young people like mental health, body image, sexual health, friendships, cost of living and therapy.
• Culture Hustle – The realities of working life in creative Ireland – gig economy, burnout, making music, and staying sane.
• The Cost of Being Young in Ireland
Comedy
• Comic and satirical approaches to Irish life, culture and/or comedy specials.
• “What’s the Craic With That?” – Comedy explainer series for cultural confusion. Comic hosts break down baffling cultural phenomena with recurring segments like “Things Irish Mammies Say”, “Why Do Men Podcast?”, “Is Dry January a Scam?, Whats Crypto bro?”
• “Lads, We Need to Talk” – Comedy-meets-vulnerability chat show for young men.
• Dear 2FM…” Satirical agony aunt show. Comedians answer fake but relatable Gen Z/Millennial problems with outrageous advice.
Live Music Formats
• 2FM are interested in exciting new formats in music programming, with a keen focus on Irish music and the Irish music industry.
