Frank Harte inducted into the Hall of Fame
Guitarist Steve Cooney was the big winner at RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards last night as he scooped up three awards in addition to receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Presenters John Creedon and Ruth Smith announced the winners live in a special broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 last night. Steve Cooney was awarded Best Folk Instrumentalist, Best Traditional Folk Track and Best Folk Album for Ceol Ársa Cláirsí: Tunes of the Irish Harpers for Solo Guitar.
Other winners on the night included: Radie Peat for Best Folk Singer, Lankum for Best Folk Group and Baby Talk by Mick Flannery & Son for Best Original Folk Track.
Actor Brendan Gleeson was in studio to posthumously induct singer Frank Harte into the Hall of Fame. The award was accepted on his behalf last night by Frank’s daughter Orla.
