Anna Geary and Sonia O’Sullivan go head-to-head for the first time
It’s set to be one of the most competitive seasons to date on Ireland’s Fittest Family, with Sonia O’Sullivan, Anna Geary, Davy Fitzgerald and Donncha O’Callaghan all vying to coach the super fit family that will bring home the title this year.
Camogie star Anna is back on the show following the birth of her first child. Uber competitive Anna will go head-to-head with fellow Cork sporting legends Sonia and Donncha, as well as Clare hurling legend Davy. Olympian Sonia will be sprinting back into action for her second season, bringing her world-class experience and determination.
Presented by Laura Fox, the upcoming series of Ireland’s Fittest Family features brand new challenges including ‘The Drop Zone,’ and ‘Raft Rage’. 16 Families from all over Ireland will be put to the test with rugged courses, high-intensity heart pounding obstacle races.
Last year’s winners, the Stratford family from Cavan, clinched the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family Season 11 under the guidance of Donncha O’Callaghan.
Speaking of her return to the series, Anna said “I’m delighted to be returning to Ireland’s Fittest Family this season. It’s bigger & better than ever before. I really missed it – the families, the crew, the coach rivalries, even the pre-race nerves. Donners was a great champion, but he’s had his moment in the sun. I’m more determined than ever to take the title back!”
On her return for a second season Sonia said “It’s so great to be back on Ireland’s Fittest Family. I have a good idea of what goes on now and hope to use my experience from last year to do even better this year, stay ahead of Anna and Davy and chase down Donncha to the finals and challenge for the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family 2024.”
Production is already underway with brand new challenges and even more unforgettable moments as families from across Ireland compete for the top prize.
The new season of Ireland’s Fittest Family will be on screens later this year on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
