RTÉ has announced that Teresa Smith has been appointed Commissioning Editor with responsibility for Factual Entertainment following a public competition. This senior editorial position will drive the development and delivery of RTÉ’s Factual Entertainment slate working in partnership with the Irish creative sector. This appointment is in line with RTÉ’s New Direction Strategy and RTÉ’s commitment to increase commissioning from the independent production sector.

Teresa is an experienced Executive Producer with a strong background in Factual Entertainment and Content Development across both broadcast, and digital platforms. A proven leader in overseeing high-profile productions, including as Executive Producer of global formats Traitors, First Dates, DIY SOS and Home of The Year and domestic formats Keys to My Life, Home Rescue, High Road Low Road, The Complaints Bureau, Cheap European Homes and Best Place To Be. Prior to her time in RTÉ Teresa worked for several years in the independent production sector.
