RTÉ is supporting 21 arts and cultural events across Ireland this September

This September, RTÉ is delighted to support Culture Night, Dublin Theatre Festival, Limerick Jazz Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival and 17 other amazing arts and cultural events all over Ireland spanning theatre, film, art, music, dance, opera, festivals, exhibitions and more.  

This year the annual, all-island public event, Culture Night, takes place on 19th September. Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir celebrates culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives. With many special and unique events, workshops and activities, which are all free of charge to the public, this year’s Culture Night promises to be ‘a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today.’ 

Taking place from September 6th – 21st Ireland’s largest annual multidisciplinary arts festival, Dublin Fringe Festival, brings wild shows, secret venues, street takeovers and after-dark antics. From form-busting theatre productions, electric dance performance, immersive installations to epic party nights out, every event is curated to ignite your mind and leave an indelible mark on your soul. 

This September Dublin Theatre Festival brings world-class theatre to Dublin and showcases the best of Irish theatre to the world.  With a colourful programme full of theatre, music, dance and family events this is one not to miss. 

Limerick Jazz Festival will bring a wealth of Irish and international talent and entertainment to all jazz lovers in the midwest. There will be lots more music to enjoy this month too, including Westport Festival of Chamber Music with concerts and recitals. Sounds from a Safe Harbour 2025 will take place in Cork from 11th-14th September. Music for Wexford Summer/Autumn Series will also continue its annual series of recitals by both Irish and international musicians. 

Also not to be missed this month, Ceol Connected embarks on a nine-venue nationwide tour between August and October 2025. ‘The Land of a Hundred Little Hills’ is coming to venues across Ireland including Kilkenny Arts Festival, Patrick Kavanagh Centre, Ramor Theatre, Townhall Arts Centre Cavan, The Lark, Siamsa Tíre, the National Concert Hall, Linenhall Arts Centre and Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet.  

The 41st EVA International, Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art, will take place across venues in Limerick city and beyond until October. 

And finally, it’s ‘lights, camera, action’ in Dublin this month with the IFI Documentary Festival 2025 and the 16th Indian Film Festival of Ireland 2025. IFI Documentary Festival 2025, its annual celebration of non-fiction filmmaking, is taking place from 10th to 14th September. Bringing together bold voices, urgent topics, and inventive forms, the festival presents a cutting-edge mix of screenings, panel discussions, and public interviews.  

The 16th Indian Film Festival of Ireland 2025 welcomes you all to the newly opened Nutgrove Cinema and The Bridge Enterprise Center, Rathfarnham. This September, the festival brings the vast world of Indian cinema to Ireland for the 16th year.
