Fleadh Cheoil returns to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player from Friday 24 October at 8pm. Presented by Dáithí Ó Sé, alongside acclaimed musician Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, the six-part series will showcase the very best of Irish traditional music from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025.
Viewers will be treated to a lively ramble through Wexford town, with street sessions and electrifying performances that capture the magic of Ireland’s largest music festival. This year’s Fleadh saw an estimated 800,000 people visit Wexford across the eight-day period.
The series will feature performances by renowned musicians including Michael Flatley, Cuckoo’s Nest (Maureen Codd and family), Megan McGinley and Marty Barry, Foster and Allen, Aoife Scott, Andy Irvine, and this year’s senior Céilí Band champions, Glór na dTonn.
Other highlights include performances from Damien Mullane and Seán O’Meara, Piaras Ó Lorcáin, Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha agus cairde, Muintir Uí Mhaolagáin, Ademar O’Connor and Michael Fearon, Micheál and Méabh Uí Raghallaigh, Conal Ó Gráda, The Rowesome Piping Quartet, and lots more.
The series also takes a look back at some of the highlights and competitions that are integral to the Fleadh including Meitheal Summer School and the Guinness World Record attempt in Wexford Park, where more than 1,000 people gathered to form the largest céilí band to play together in history.
