Presidential Election Results Coverage on RTÉ
RTÉ will provide extensive coverage of the results of the Presidential Election across television, radio and online on Saturday, 25 October 2025.
Throughout the weekend, wherever you are, you can follow the results via the RTÉ News app and RTÉ.ie with a live tracker covering every detail as the count unfolds with the latest results and analysis on Presidential Election 2025 with coverage also carried across RTÉ social media accounts on Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X.
On count day, RTÉ Radio 1’s coverage will begin with Morning Ireland at 9.00am, presented by Gavin Jennings live from the count at the RDS in Dublin and Justin McCarthy in studio, and will continue through the day with discussion, debate and analysis with Brendan O’Connor and an extended Saturday with Colm Ó Mongáin from 1pm-3pm. RTÉ Radio 1 reporters will update listeners with the latest tallies and constituency results throughout the day, with analysis of the national picture from Dublin Castle, where the final result will be declared. A special This Week programme, presented by Rachael English and Áine Lawlor will provide the latest results coverage between 6.00pm-8.00pm on RTÉ Radio 1.
RTÉ One and RTÉ Player will provide comprehensive election results coverage, analysis and discussion, with updates from count centres across the country throughout the day. From 10.00am live coverage of the early results indications from the Presidential Election, featuring updates from count centres across the country will be presented by David McCullagh and Fran McNulty in the RTÉ studios and Miriam O’Callaghan live from Dublin Castle.
David McCullagh, Miriam O’Callaghan and Fran McNulty return in the afternoon, continuing dedicated live election results coverage from 3.00pm, with further updates featuring on Nuacht RTÉ and News with Signing bulletins. RTÉ One’s Six One News will be extended to include the latest updates on the Presidential Election results from 6.01pm-7.00pm, while the RTÉ Nine O’Clock News will feature results along with the main national news stories of the day.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will present the results of the election In the programme Lá an Chomhairimh, starting at 10am on Saturday. Coverage will be anchored by presenters Máirín Ní Ghadhra and Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg, with lively analysis and discussion of the results with a panel in studio and rolling results from reporters in count centres across the country. Panellists in studio will include journalists Cathal Mac Coille and Áine Ní Chiaráin, former Government Press Secretary Eoin Ó Neachtain, former TD Eamon Ó Cuiv barrister Cecelia Ní Choileáin, and Eoghan Ó Ceannbháín from People Before Profit.
The RTÉ News channel will provide rolling coverage available worldwide (via the Live button in the App and RTÉ Player) throughout the weekend with live breaking feeds of declarations in addition to election programming and news bulletins.
