On Saturday 20 December live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at the earlier time of 8.05pm, Joanne Cantwell, Darragh Maloney and David Gillick will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2025 from Studio 4 in RTÉ.
The Awards being handed out on the night in front of an audience of Irish sports stars include RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year, RTÉ Sport Team of the Year, RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year and RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year. This year’s nominees for the RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year are listed below.
RTÉ SPORT MANAGER OF THE YEAR 2025 NOMINEES
Aidan O’Brien – Champion Trainer in Ireland and Britain on the flat
O’Brien became the outright most successful trainer in the history of the Breeders’ Cup, achieving his 21st victory with Gstaad in the Juvenile Turf at Del Mar.
Cathal Murray – Galway Camogie
Manager of the Galway camogie team which won the All-Ireland Senior Championship and was named the PwC Camogie Manager of the Year.
Jack O’Connor – Kerry Football
Led Kerry as the Kingdom won League, Munster and All Ireland honours in a landmark year for football by securing their 39th All Ireland title and his 5th as Manager.
Liam Cahill – Tipperary Hurling
Led Tipperary to Liam McCarthy glory in what was perceived as being an unlikely win having been under a lot of pressure from the year before.
Stephen Bradley – Double Winners for the first time since 1987
Key achievements include winning the League of Ireland Premier Division, the FAI Cup, securing the club’s first domestic double since 1987, and earning a spot in the UEFA Conference League group stage for the third time in four seasons.
Willie Mullins – Champion Trainer in Ireland and Britain in hunt racing
What a year again for Willie. Winning the British and Irish Champion Trainer titles, a record-equalling 10 winners at the Cheltenham Festival, a third Grand National victory, and his first-ever win at the Breeders’ Cup Turf in the USA.
