RTÉ Sports Awards 2025 live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 8:05pm on Saturday 20 December
On Saturday 20 December live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at the earlier time of 8.05pm, Joanne Cantwell, Darragh Maloney and David Gillick will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2025 from Studio 4 in RTÉ. The Awards being handed out on the night in front of an audience of Irish sports stars include RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year, RTÉ Sport Team of the Year, RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year and RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year. This year’s nominees for the RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson are listed below.
YOUNG SPORTS PERSON OF THE YEAR
Alex Dunne: Became the first Irish driver to win an F2 race, winning in Bahrain and Italy.

Conor Kelly: Crowned best under-20 400 metres runner in Europe by winning 400m Gold at the European Athletics U20 Championships in Finland.

John Shortt: Gold-medallist in the 200m Backstroke at the European Short-Course Championships and double gold at the World Junior Championships in both the 100m and 200m Backstroke.

Michael Noonan: Youngest ever scorer of a UEFA Conference League goal, scoring for Shamrock Rovers v Molde at the age of 16, as well as helping the Hoops to a League and FAI Cup double.

Patsy Joyce: Won World Boxing Bronze at 55kg weight at Championships in Liverpool

Roisin Ni Riain: A hat-trick of silvers at the World Para Swimming Championships plus two further bronze medals.

Sean Butterly: Won World Gold Junior Mens K1 at the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in Hungary.
