Thursday 29 January 9:35pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player
The dating show returns with something old, something new and a dater you may already know
Thursday evenings are heating up thanks to the brand-new season of First Dates Ireland which returns on Thursday 29 January at 9:35pm on RTÉ2. The eleventh series of Ireland’s sweetest dating show introduces a new crowd of hopeful singletons who want to meet that special someone.
On hand as always with words of encouragement and support throughout the dates are Maitre D’ Mateo, servers Alice and Pete and Neil behind the bar. Throughout the season the team will be there to guide daters to their seats, through the menu and through the good, the bad and the awkward.
Here, everyone has an equal opportunity to find romance: young, old, straight, LGBTQ, new faces, memorable returners, shrinking violets and strutting peacocks alike.
Season 11 promises to be one for the books as we welcome the oldest daters ever to the First Dates restaurant. This season also features a celebrity guest in search of love: former The X Factor finalist Mary Byrne, who arrives hoping to go unrecognised. Viewers can also look forward to the return of some familiar faces, including Simon, who appeared on the very first episode of the show back in 2016.
In episode one viewers can expect to see Shannon from Limerick, and fellow ‘culchie’, Diarmuid from Cork realise what or who they have in common, First Dates familiar face Boo is back hoping to find love, will tattoo artist Lisa be the one? Tired of commitment-phobes, marine biologist Áine discovers a rare and exotic find in the form of junior doctor Keith and events organiser and disco dancing divorcee Margaret from Malahide meets semi-retired primary school teacher and filmmaker Robin from Melbourne.
Will sparks fly? Or will they be asking for the cheque a little too soon? Tune in to First Dates Ireland Thursday 29 January at 9:35pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player for love, laughter and everything in between.
