Summer is nearly here and Super Garden is returning to our screens to spark some gardening inspiration. The new series kicks off on Thursday 23 April at 7pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player. Whether you have a garden, a balcony, or a windowsill, Super Garden offers fresh ideas and creativity as we follow five designers in creating gardens worthy of appearing at Bord Bia Bloom.
The location for this year’s Super Garden is Millrace in Ashbourne in County Meath, a new social housing development by Meath County Council. Five families have recently moved into their new homes, and their gardens are a blank canvas for each designer. Each garden is transformed over the course of three weeks, with a budget of €15,000. The designers create unique gardens, hoping to serve the needs of each family, as well as to win the opportunity to recreate their garden at Bord Bia Bloom this June Bank Holiday Weekend.

In this series, the garden designers are Eoighan Mountaine Barry from Lucan in Dublin; Janani Rajkumar from Balbriggan; Emily Moorcroft, former Detective with the London Metropolitan Police; Sean Melia from Summerhill in Co. Meath, the youngest contestant ever on Super Garden; and Adrian Bolton originally from Lancashire in England and living in Ireland for over 20 years.
The designers all take different approaches to their gardens, including mixing colourful glass bricks with leafy trees; a mural inspired by the Irish landscape; using AI to create a watering system (a first for Super Garden); fountains and pergolas, and focusing on accessibility for wheelchair users.
Super Garden is sponsored by Woodie’s and Dulux Exteriors. The judges are Brian Burke, representing Woodie’s, who is a previous Super Garden winner; Kerrie Gardiner, who is Bord Bia Bloom’s Show Gardens Manager; Carol Marks, Manager of Horticulture at Bord Bia; and Monica Alvarez, a garden design lecturer also representing Dulux Exteriors.
The winning garden is recreated at Ireland’s premier garden and food event, Bord Bia Bloom, taking place from Thursday 28 May and running until Monday 1 June 2026. Over 100,000 people will get to experience the selected garden, providing a great launchpad for the winning designer.
The first episode of the new series of Super Garden airs on Thursday 23 April at 7pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
