Dublin DJ RKM333 wins 2FM competition and a coveted slot at this year’s Forbidden Fruit Festival
2FM’s search for the next big Irish DJ concluded this afternoon with the winner announced live on 2FM Afternoon with Demi & Mikey.
The winner is RKM333, a DJ and garage producer from Dublin, whose tracks have garnered over 375,000 streams across all platforms.
Last month, RTÉ 2FM called on aspiring DJs across Ireland to take their shot at the spotlight, with the launch of an exciting new competition offering one emerging talent the chance to perform live at the Forbidden Fruit Festival 2026, which returns to the Royal Hospital Kilmainham for the June Bank Holiday weekend.
The entrants were asked to submit a 20-minute mix, along with a short artist profile, and a judging panel including 2fm’s Jenny Greene and other members of 2fm’s music team whittled down the entries.
RKM333 will play the 2FM Rising Stage at Forbidden Fruit, a platform renowned for championing emerging Irish artists.

Reacting to the win, RKM333 told 2FM’s Demi and Mikey, “You try to look back and work with what you have seen and heard from years before. I tried to have that influence in my mix.”
2FM’s Jenny Greene, who was a judge, said, “Among over 100 entries, RKM333’s mix stood out for his originality, seamless progression and strong sense of identity. It was a set that felt both technically polished and creatively fearless.”
RKM333 has supported the Dart, Interplanetary Criminal, Sam Alfred & Soul Mass Transit System across multiple venues in Dublin.
In his entry for the competition, he wrote, “I have my first international gig coming up in the summer so I’d love to play the 2FM Rising Stage as it would give me the opportunity to showcase a lot of my own work to a wider audience at a time that feels like I’m really starting to build some momentum in my musical career.”
RTÉ 2FM Rising acts Aby Coulibaly, Curtisy, Mischa and the Bear, Runthered, Roe Byrne, April, F3mii, Jensen McRae and Jessica Doolan will also perform live at the 2FM Rising stage at Forbidden Fruit Festival 2026.
