Today Show, season 9: It’s a wrap
After 164 shows, including St Patrick’s Day Specials and Christmas specials, and featuring around 1000 guests, today (Thursday 27.05), is the last day of production for season nine of the Today Show broadcast from RTÉ Cork. Season nine has seen us deliver over 320 live hours of television and companionship, day in day out, to our audiences at a difficult time for all. Thanks for being with us.
As with many of our shows in RTÉ over the last 14 months or so, we have had to reinvent how we do the show, whether it was on reformatting the show itself, so we could deliver it on air, or pushing the limits by using remote technology to get great guests on air wherever they were, the team in Cork and Dublin did an incredible job to keep the show going, without missing a beat, at any point.
I’d also like to thank Maura, Sinead and Daithi – the faces of the show, who deliver each day for the audience with an infectious combination of wit, charm, and mischief.
Hopefully, we will all be in a much better position as we head into season ten in September.
Thank you,
Colm Crowley,
Head RTÉ Cork and Editor Today Show
