Follow the Northern Ireland Assembly Election Results with RTÉ

RTÉ will present comprehensive coverage of the Northern Ireland Assembly Election 2022 results from Friday 6th May and throughout the weekend across television, radio and online.
RTÉ’s Northern Editor Vincent Kearney and Northern Correspondent Conor Macauley will be providing on-the-ground insight, reaction and reporting live from across Northern Ireland on the overall impact of results. RTÉ News, Radio 1 and Raidió na Gaeltachta reporters will be live in the three count centres, covering all 18 constituencies until the final declarations.
The RTÉ News app and rte.ie/news will feature coverage and breaking news around the clock from the opening of boxes right through to the completion of every count. There will be a live results feed constituency-by-constituency, count by count, along with updates on all RTE News twitter, facebook, instagram, tik-tok and youtube accounts.
Live coverage on the RTÉ News channel (available on all TV platforms and on the RTÉ News App) will have a rolling results service, and breaking news developments as well as carrying coverage of the key RTÉ Election programmes.
Friday 6th May
As ballot boxes are opened, RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland will be co-presented live from Belfast by Gavin Jennings and Rachael English in Dublin. Updates on turnout across all 18 constituencies and analysis will be available throughout the morning on Today with Claire Byrne.
There will be an extended RTÉ News at One with Bryan Dobson on Radio 1 and One O’Clock News on RTÉ One television featuring early count indications.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta election programme Lá an Chomhairimh starts at 1.30pm and will run until 10pm. Presenters Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg and Máirín Ní Ghadhra will have results from reporters in each of the count centres, as well as analysis from panelists Póilín Ní Chiaráin, Ian Malcolm, Eoin Ó Néill, Ciarán Ó Pronntaigh, Máirín Hurndall, Máirtín Ó Muilleoir and Fearghal Mac Bhloscaidh
As the first count declarations begin, RTÉ One will broadcast a special Assembly Election 2022 programme from 3pm through the afternoon with presenters Miriam O’Callaghan in Belfast and David McCullagh in Dublin. The programme will feature live coverage of the results of the Assembly Election, with updates from count centres across Northern Ireland, studio analysis and reaction.
On RTÉ Radio 1, Cormac O’hEadhra will co-present Drivetime live from the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast, with John Cooke bringing listeners the rest of the day’s stories from RTÉ in Dublin from the earlier time of 4.00pm.
Television coverage continues as Nuacht RTÉ will have the latest updates and news as Gaeilge at 5.40pm followed by a specially extended Six One News programme presented by Caitriona Perry live from the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast with all the latest election reaction.
As counting continues late into the night, the RTÉ One Nine O’Clock News with Eileen Dunne will report the latest results while Katie Hannon will present a special edition of RTÉ Radio 1’s Late Debate live from the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast at 10pm.
Saturday 8th May
On Saturday morning, Gavin Jennings will present a Morning Ireland Election Results Special on RTÉ Radio 1, live from Belfast at 8am. Dedicated coverage continues on RTÉ Radio 1 with Saturday with Katie Hannon coming live from Belfast at 1pm.
Aine Lawlor will present The Week in Politics – Assembly Election Special hour-long television programme on Saturday at 1.00pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ News channel.
On RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta An tSeachtain le Máirín Ní Ghadhra will be live from Belfast from 10.30am until 1pm on Saturday, and from 10 am on Sunday. Panelists will include Fergus Ó hÍr, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, Clíona Ní Chorráin, Somhairle Mac Uidhir, Gearóid Ó Muilleoir, Somhairle Mac Uidhir, Jake Mac Siacais and Mícheál Mac Giolla Ghunna.
On Sunday, as the results are known, RTÉ Radio 1’s This Week programme will examine the new political landscape in Northern Ireland with presenters Gavin Jennings in Belfast and Carole Coleman in Dublin.
Nuacht RTÉ/TG4 will have have detailed election coverage on bulletins on RTÉ One, RTÉ News channel, TG4 and online with a count update tracker on the RTÉ News app / Nuacht tab, updates on social media, and full coverage of all results and reaction from Northern Ireland. Nuacht TG4 will be broadcasting live from Belfast on Friday the 6th May, from 7-8pm, presented by Eimear Ní Chonaola, with live results, updates and analysis.
