RTÉ secures rights to Republic of Ireland UEFA Nations League games for 2022
Six games live across RTÉ including Republic of Ireland v Ukraine
On tonight’s Late Late Show special celebrating one hundred years of Irish football, RTÉ was pleased to announce that it has secured rights for all six Republic of Ireland UEFA Nations League games in 2022.
Republic of Ireland Men’s National Team manager Stephen Kenny was a guest on tonight’s Late Late Show and his squad will take on Ukraine, Scotland and Armenia home and away live on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player and RTÉ Radio as they aim to take their good recent form into the UEFA Nations League.
The campaign begins away against Armenia on Saturday 4 June and the Republic of Ireland will then host Ukraine in the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 8 June in what is sure to be an emotional occasion as Irish fans get an opportunity to show their solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Scotland are up next on Saturday 11 June in the Aviva followed by the away game against Ukraine which will provisionally take place in Łódź, Poland on Tuesday 14 June.
Finally, in September Ireland will travel to take on Scotland and finish the campaign at home against Armenia.
RTÉ Group Head of Sport, Declan McBennett said “RTÉ Sport is delighted to bring the UEFA Nations League games to the audience free to air given the growing momentum behinds the Men’s international team and the significance of the games with Scotland, Armenia and in particular Ukraine. Combined with our coverage of the Women’s national team, the Under 21’s qualification campaign and the domestic game it visibly demonstrates our commitment to keeping key sporting moments available to the widest possible audience.”
