Kicking off on Saturday 25th March, the 2023 TikTok Six Nations coverage will see all games equally aired across RTÉ2, RTÉ Player, RTÉ Radio 1 and Virgin Media for what promises to be an explosive championship.
RTÉ has been championing women’s rugby for more than 15 years, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the first ever live broadcast of the Ireland Women’s team on RTÉ television – their historic Grand Slam win against Italy in 2013.
RTÉ’s TikTok Six Nations coverage is presented by Daire O’Brien, who will be joined by pundits Fiona Coghlan, who captained the Irish Women’s team to their first ever Six Nations, Grand Slam and Triple Crown titles in 2013, former Six Nations winners Paula Fitzpatrick and Hannah Tyrrell as well as, former Irish international and sporting star Lindsay Peat.
The TikTok Six Nations will begin on Saturday 25th March with Wales v Ireland at 2.15pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player, followed by England v Scotland on Virgin Media Two at 4.45pm. On Sunday 26th March Italy v France will air on RTÉ Player from 3pm.
The championship will roll out over an adrenaline-fuelled 6-week window, until April 29th. Round 2 will see Ireland v France on Saturday 1st April at 3.15pm on Virgin Media One, and Scotland v Wales at 5.30pm on RTÉ Player. On Sunday 2nd April, England v Italy will kick off at 3pm on Virgin Media Two.
Commenting, Head of RTÉ Sport, Declan McBennett said: “With Irish rugby reaching new heights it is imperative that the Womens game continues to grow, and standards continue to rise. One element of this is the increased exposure that RTE & Virgin Media bring to the game as we broadcast games free to air and highlight the exploits of all national teams.”
