Heartbreak for Yasmin Seky as she is eliminated from Dancing with the Stars – Love Week
Yasmin Seky’s love story with Dancing with the Stars came to an end tonight as she became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the show.
Speaking about her time on the show Yasmin said, “I feel great and I improved every single week and I’ll miss getting my hair done!”
Simone Arena said, “I loved seeing Yasmin going from a complete beginner to this performance tonight. I’m very proud of everything you’ve achieved and I’m very proud of you.”
Yasmin and her pro partner Simone will speak to Laura Fox on 2FM at 9.30am tomorrow morning for their first broadcast interview following their exit from the show.
The two couples who found themselves in the dance off were Yasmin and Simone and Aishah Akorede and partner Robert Rowiński.
Here’s the lowdown on the rest of the seventh show:
Chef Kevin Dundon was first up on the dance floor with his partner Rebecca Scott tonight. They rocked out a Paso Doble to You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi.
Judge Brian Redmond said, “There’s a song It Ain’t What You Do, it’s the way that you do it… It was a bit walky around the place for me!”
Judge Karen Byrne said, “I was mesmerized by your luscious locks – you look gorgeous! You had some dodgy moments, but I liked it.”
Kevin and Rebecca scored a total of 20 points.
Next up, Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan and his professional dance partner, Laura Nolan danced a Romeo and Juliet inspired Rumba to Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding.
Judge Arthur Gourounlian said, “It was a little heavy in the middle. Your chemistry is so firey that it made me engage with the performance.”
Brian said, “As you well know every champion has their challenge… I think maybe the storytelling needs work. Not your best week but it was ok.”
Rhys and Laura scored a total of 31 points.
Actress Yasmin Seky and her pro dance partner Simone Arena danced a Jive to Imelda May’s version of the classic hit Tainted Love.
Brian said, “One little ick – keep those toes pointed. Don’t give me the ick – give me the kicks!”
Loraine Barry said: “This is a very good dance for you in the timing and the completing of all the steps. Something has clicked with you because facially you are more alive.”
Arthur said, “Your energy was infectious. Good job staying in the music – synchronized. I’m very impressed.”
Yasmin and Simone scored a total of 29 points.
Next up, Mrs. Brown’s Boys actor Danny O’Carroll danced an enchanting Viennese Waltz to This Year’s Love by David Gray alongside his partner Salome Chachua.
Karen said, “I feel like I’m still dancing with you out there. It was very enjoyable. I feel like we see a different side of you each week – this was very stripped back. Also you look like you’re making your First Communion!”
Brian said, “A beautiful top line and rotation. You kept it flowing really nicely. Overall a really solid Viennese Waltz.”
Danny and Salome scored a total of 34 points.
Former Miss Universe Ireland Aishah Akorede and partner Robert Rowiński followed suit with a fiery, fast-paced Paso Doble to We Found Love by Rihanna. Aishah found herself in the dance off last weekend so this week Aishah was determined to dance from the heart.
Loraine said, “There was firey energy oozing out of both of you. I really liked it. The usage of the skirt was another element to create more drama, Well done!”
Arthur said, “Wow! What? You went for it so strong. Can we just talk about the skirt?”
Karen said: “Overall I loved the intensity, you got so fierce and into character. I really liked it, plenty of Paso content. Make sure you have a feet closed. I think it was a great comeback dance.”
Aishah and Robert scored a total of 33 points – their highest score of the series so far.
Taekwondo athlete Jack Woolley and his pro dance partner Alex Vladimirov were determined to impress tonight, as the immunity they won in Dedicated Dance week officially expired tonight. They danced a Contemporary Ballroom to Florence + the Machine’s version of You’ve Got the Love.
Arthur said, “Oh my God – your movements were so fluid and dynamic. I have nothing else to say – astounding!”
Karen said, “You blow everyone away. There’s nothing to critique!”
Brian gave Jack and Alex a standing ovation and said, “That was a level of dancing that we’ve rarely seen on this show. Thank you.”
Loraine said, “Absolute perfection.”
Jack and Alex scored a total of 40 points – the first perfect score of the series.
Comedian Gearóid Farrelly and his professional dance partner Stephen Vincent took on a Quickstep to Phil Collins’ version of You Can’t Hurry Love.
Karen said, “For me I think that was best ballroom frame so far. You’ve gone up a notch.”
Loraine said, “It was light, it was fluid with alot of swing… done with great posture and consistency and that I applaud.”
Gearóid and Stephen scored a total of 32 points.
The final celebrity to take to the floor tonight was social media star Kayleigh Trappe and Ervinas Merfeldas danced a Salsa to Christina Aguilera’s Let There Be Love.
Karen said, “I feel like I have motion sickness after that! It was very good.”
Arthur said, “You really engaged the whole audience with the performance. You were going full out. You went for it.”
Kayleigh and Ervinas scored a total of 32 points.
To close tonight’s show, the Dancing with the Stars professional dancers performed a flowing American Smooth to L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole.
