Connect is a free telephone counselling and support service for any adult who has experienced abuse, trauma or neglect in childhood. You can talk in confidence with a trained counsellor who can listen or help with questions you have.
Phone Counselling
Connect is an additional service to the HSE’s National Counselling Service which provides free face to face counselling for people who have suffered abuse, trauma or neglect in their childhood. Connect provides counselling services by telephone which may suit some people better.
The service was established after it became apparent some years ago that there had been widespread childhood abuse and neglect in Ireland.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Al-Anon and Al-Teen is a support group for relatives and friends of problem drinkers/children of problem drinkers.
The Ana Liffey Drug Project is a national addiction service with a ‘Low Threshold – Harm Reduction’ ethos.

Alzheimers and Dementia
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland operates the Alzheimer National Helpline Service offering information and support to anyone affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Bereavement
Anam Cara Parent Bereavement Support group supports patents and families on the loss of a child.
The Bereavement Counselling Service offers support and counselling to enable people deal with their grief. This applies not only to those directly bereaved through death, stillbirth, miscarriage, abortion etc., but also to those whose lives are affected by the losses of those near to them.

Crisis Pregnancy
Cura services are provided through our Hub and Outreach services nationwide. Services are provided by over 90 specially trained counsellors who volunteer their time with the organisation.
Positive Options is a brand created to promote State-funded crisis pregnancy counselling services. Its stated aim is “To make women aware of the existence of a range of high-quality, State-funded, crisis pregnancy counselling services that can assist them in finding a resolution to a crisis pregnancy.”

The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is a national organisation offering a wide range of services to women and men who are affected by rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or childhood sexual abuse. The services include a national 24-hour helpline, one to one counselling, court accompaniment, outreach services, training, awareness raising and lobbying.
One in Four offers a voice to and support for women and men who have experienced sexual abuse and/or sexual violence and also to their family and friends.
